Solicitor / Partner
Specialising in Immigration and Asylum matters, Louise is accredited to Supervisor Level of the Immigration and Asylum Accreditation Scheme.
Her experience ranges from initial applications, matters before the Immigration and Asylum Chamber (First Tier and Upper Tribunal), to applications to the Administrative Court for Judicial Review (including emergency interim relief) and Court of Appeal.
She has a particular interest in asylum applications, made by those who are the victims of trafficking. She has extensive experience with the National Referral Mechanism (NRM), from referring a potential victim for assessment through to challenging an unreasonable decision.
She has recently been asked to contribute towards research on the subject of trafficking for sexual exploitation in hope that victims will be identified more easily and receive better support in the future.
Additionally, she has been successful in many applications for indefinite leave to remain on the basis of domestic violence.
Away from the office she enjoys a challenge, usually in the name of charity. Last year Louise completed a 26 mile trek from Stonehenge to Avebury on behalf of Alzheimer’s Society. She has previously completed the Cardiff Half Marathon, taken part in a Dragon Boat Race and a Ghost Hunt.
Louise is a first dan in Karate, although she admits she does not train anywhere near as much as she should. She aims to make that a second dan in the future.
